dYdX is the protocol for decentralized derivatives built on the Ethereum Blockchain. Our vision is for an open, peer to peer and trustless financial system.

We expect the proliferation of crypto assets to go far beyond just cryptocurrencies. With this proliferation comes a massive market for crypto assets. With any market (look at any underlying spot market in traditional finance), there is typically a derivatives market 10x the size sitting on top. The size of the derivatives market on existing financial infrastructure far outstrips the market size of any other type of financial asset. However, derivatives infrastructure exists minimally today for crypto assets, and primarily on centralized exchanges where users are exposed to security risks. We have a huge opportunity to rebuild the core of the world’s biggest financial market.
