Descript is a new kind of creative tool that makes creating audio and video content possible for anyone who can use a word processor. Eliminating technical complexity and learning curves, Descript makes media creation as simple as typing.

At Descript, our mission is to give voice to your vision - to use technology to take away all the things that get in the way of your ability to express your creative intent, while leaving that intent untouched.

Increasingly we’re all creators - but few have the time or technical mastery to craft what we've captured. By making an editor that's as simple as using words, Descript makes creation easy, fast, and fun.

Based in San Francisco, Descript launched in December 2017 with funding from Andreessen Horowitz.
