    Our Mission

    Curology is revolutionizing dermatology by making effective skincare accessible to everyone. We help real people get medical care previously accessible to only a tiny percentage of the population.

    Our consumer-facing React app powers 1:1 chats with real dermatology providers and enables users to engage with a vibrant community. After signing up, each customer receives a customized formula shipped directly to their door.

    Engineering at Curology

    Engineers at Curology work together in pods dedicated to a common goal. Pods are small groups of engineers, designers and product managers that work together to solve problems with a high degree of autonomy.

    We use Github pull requests for code review, and all engineers participate in the review and deployment process, which happens multiple times every day.

    Technical Challenges

    We're focused on creating the fastest and most engaging mobile experience possible for our users. We love React (w/ Mobx and Emotion) and use it everywhere, from the consumer experience to a wide variety of internal tools.

    Since we're growing quickly, we're also increasingly focused on scalability. On the technical side, we've been exploring solutions for scaling our infrastructure on AWS (Aurora, Redis, Redshift, Elasticsearch), as well as building ETL pipelines in Airflow to support our data science and operations teams.

    On the product side, we're deploying NLP and machine learning to help scale our operations to serve hundreds of thousands (and eventually millions) of customers.
