What we do

Commonplace is a fast-growing London based startup, founded by serial entrepreneurs. Our award winning platform brings democracy and transparency to local planning, encouraging large numbers of people to participate. It's engaging, insightful and very easy to use.

We operate in a fast paced environment. You'll be working directly with the founders and customers in a highly collaborative manner. On a typical day, we deploy multiple versions of our software into production. We are looking for developers who are excited about the challenge of building & scaling systems that are a joy to use as we rapidly iterate on our product.

How we interview and hire

We have a simple, straightforward interview process. We start with an introductory chat to explore what you are looking for and what we have to offer. From there, we conduct a pair-programming based technical interview where we cut code together. No trick questions or devious puzzles. We simply want to see how you approach a problem and what you are like to work with. We pride ourselves on being transparent throughout the entire interview process with conversations around compensation, equity, the impact you will make here at Commonplace.
