In 2011, David Klein, Mike Taormina, and Jessup Shean met as Wharton MBA students and set out to tackle one of the most frustrating areas of consumer finance: the student lending industry. Armed with backgrounds in finance, and a wealth (or more accurately, debt) of first-hand student loan experience, they co-founded CommonBond. Since then, the company has grown, but what has remained consistent is the mission to deliver competitive pricing, a simple, tech-enabled experience, and exceptional customer service.
Our mission is to make education more accessible. First, through our core competency. We lower the cost of financing higher education in the U.S. By lowering the cost threshold, we make the higher degree more attainable. Second, through our Social Promise. For every degree fully funded on the CommonBond platform, the company funds the education of a student in need abroad for a full year.
Our interview process begins with an introduction call to help you learn more about the role, learn more about your interests, and help decide if CommonBond is a mutual fit. If we move forward, we'll schedule one more phone/video call to either deep dive into your resume (Business roles), or for a technical screen (Engineering). Finally, the onsite interview can always work around your schedule's flexibility, but we like to have you meet several key stakeholders on the team, as well as one of our Founders.
