Overview

Coalition is an upstart company at the intersection of the insurance and technology industries founded by the former CEO and founder of Lookout and former CxO and Head of Special Projects at Cloudflare. We are an engineering driven team that have spent many years building things at Google, Cloudflare, OpenDNS, NSA, CIA, Ironnet, and Fin among others. We are based in San Francisco, although you'll find some of our team in exotic places like Washington D.C. and Boulder.

Our mission

We now live at a time where a cyber attack, technology failure, or human error can cause everything from data theft to nuclear centrifuge explosion, hospital shutdowns, hotel room lockouts, supply chain disruptions, and blackouts – literally the entire spectrum of known risk.

We are here to solve this.

Unlike any cybersecurity company, we are able to correlate controls and protective actions (insight gained during the underwriting process) with losses resulting from the failure of such controls and protective actions (insight gained by paying claims). As an insurance provider we can eliminate the cost of a company's cyber risk.

When we get this right we have an enormous opportunity to protect enterprises of all sizes in all industries, to re-shape the security industry, and to facilitate the continued growth and innovation of the technology sector at large. While we're at it, we also get to change the way cyber risk is insured.

Oh, and did we mention that we intend to insure over $2 billion of notional exposure in just the first year?
