It started with one of our confounders and his 12 year old daughter. She wanted to make an app to allow people to adopt kittens from local shelters. Our cofounder talked to a friend that is a mobile developer, and he dropped off an objective C, mobile sql, and ux/ui for mobile books. For a 12 year old girl who hadn't taken algebra it was an intimidating task. Needless to say she took one look into the objective C book and closed it.
After talking to a friend about the issue, they decided allowing kids to develop a mobile app would be a good thing. They went out and found a CTO, he hired some developers, and in a few months we've had an alpha release and are shooting for a bigger release in a few months.
