A startup media company with commerce, fan club and touring event verticals is seeking an organized, motivated head of product to assist the team as we raise money, expand, and develop into a major lifestyle destination both online and offline.

We are seeking an experienced Director of Product to help drive the vision for our Media Company products and platforms. Our Director of Product will do everything from brainstorming features to customer/competitor research to developing specifications to working closely with developers. Given the varying types of people you will work with, whether technical or not, the ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the phone is essential and necessary. In addition, the candidate should also have proven expertise to analyze and predict where the relevant markets are heading in order to shape the product strategy of the organization.
Leadership is a critical quality as Head of Product motivates cross-functional teams and helps drive innovation. Influence is a function of the strength of your ideas, how clearly you can articulate your thinking, and the charisma with which you communicate.
Candidates should have experience envisioning, defining, planning, outlining, and spearheading the execution. This role requires strong business judgment, a strong understanding of the online marketplace and social ecosystem, including key players, content developers, and best practices within the space, and a keen focus on customers and thorough understanding of Product Development. We are looking for someone with passion and obsession for building world-class digital products and experiences.
Define and manage the product roadmap, ensuring the product team. accurately translates the corporate strategy into products, features and experiences that drive business growth.
Manage and monitor content strategy across all platforms, with strong analytical approach and understanding
Set and manage expectations for the direction and pace of this evolution with all relevant stakeholders including the senior leadership team
Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may prevent optimal execution
Lead directly and by influence a world-class combination of product managers, engineers and designers. Work closely with other partner stakeholders (marketing, merchandising, legal, finance) - providing guidance and direction to achieve the product vision
Integrate best practices across our digital assets, manage new technologies
Manage all commerce across digital assets
A record of partnering with teams across a remotely distributed organization
Understanding of Agile development, web and mobile applications, design, familiarity with analytical tools and models
Strong understanding in mobile and forward looking content strategies
The ability to understand technical concepts, and discuss them in both technical and non-technical ways
