Bark‘N’Borrow started in 2014, but it’s roots trace back much farther, to when its founder, Liam Berkeley was just a wee child in Australia. Liam grew up surrounded by dogs, who were always treated as part of the family.

When Liam eventually moved overseas, his first instinct was to adopt a dog and carry on the traditions that he had grown up with. But the reality was, he had a full time job, a small apartment, and traveled a lot. Missing that canine companionship, he started watching his friends’ dogs whenever he had the chance.

He soon realized that there were lots of great people who would love to spend some quality time with dogs. And at the same time, there were tons of owners who greatly appreciated a helping hand. So, Bark‘N’Borrow was born around the belief that dogs make our lives better. This is just how we give back.

Bark ‘N’ Borrow is the perfect matchmaking service for dog lovers who can’t have a dog FULL TIME and dog owners who are open to allowing these loving people hang out with their pet on a PART TIME basis. The service is accessed through a simple application that functions like a social community for dog lovers. Whether someone wants to borrow a dog for a simple walk, hike or whenever it works for their schedule, we believe dog owners shouldn’t have to pay someone to look after their dog when there are people out there who would love to do it for free. At the same time, we understand the importance of utilizing certified dog walkers, sitters or caretakers, especially when pet owners need help with their dogs at their personal convenience or for long periods of time. Therefore, we offer that option as well.

Bark ‘N’ Borrow is filling a need that exists all over the US: people who can’t own a dog but would love one as a part-time companion don’t have any options.
