Artificial intelligence is a revolutionary technology that will be a leading driver of economic growth over the coming years. At Faculty we believe that this technology should be available to every organisation, from startups and charities to government and large corporations.

To achieve this vision Faculty has a number of complementary products and services.

Our primary product is our data science platform, which empowers technical data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models at scale.

We also have a team of highly-skilled data scientists who work with our clients to build custom machine learning solutions, and we run Europe's most prestigious data science fellowship for academics looking to transition into a career in data science, which get's applications from 10% of the UK STEM PhDs.

What it's like working on the Faculty Platform

It's an exciting time to be working in the Faculty platform team. We have a product that is building a great reputation in the industry and a growing number of users and customers.

The platform team is a highly technical team comprising engineers (many with PhDs), designers, and product management. We work in a very agile manner, mostly self-organise, and care deeply that the best idea wins. We attend and present at many conferences, including Strata and PyCon, and contribute to various open-source projects. Fridays are dedicated to learning time where everyone works on projects that they think will help them grow as individuals. There is also plenty of exposure to data science and machine learning through our consultancy and fellowship. Many people in the team also teach on the fellowship.

Take a look at this interview with Andrew, one of our data engineers, to learn more about what a day in the life of a software engineer at Faculty is like.

    Our work

We're proud to have worked on over 200 data science/artificial intelligence projects including counter-terrorism for the UK Home Office and building a predictive algorithm for a London bus company to identify potential delays in routes. We've also worked with organisations such as easyJet, Siemens, Rolls-Royce, and Amnesty International. You can see details of our work in the press section of this page.

    How we interview and hire

Our interview process focusses heavily on figuring out what it would be like to actually work with you. For that reason our it's designed to be as practical and work focussed as possible. For engineers this means pair-programming with one of the platform engineers and for designers it involves a design task and review session.

    Typically we have 2 stages:

    Stage 1

Technical test and discussing your career motivations - Usually on Skype or face to face taking about an hour.

    Stage 2

Onsite interview with the broader team. For engineers, this is system design with a whiteboard. For designers, this is discussing and reviewing design work.
