Recorded voice is having a moment. More people are listening to voice content than ever before, with almost 50M Americans listening to podcasts monthly, and almost 170M Americans listening to digital radio in 2016 alone.
But creating voice content is incredibly difficult, and presents challenges that most people aren’t willing to put up with. You need to shell out big bucks for an expensive microphone, master confusing software, and learn how to distribute your content on iTunes. It shouldn’t have to be this hard. If you own a smartphone, you’re walking around with an internet-connected microphone in your pocket. So why is it so difficult to talk and be heard? We believe everyone on the planet should be able to easily record and broadcast their voice.
Ultimately, we want to democratize voice, turning radio and podcasting into a completely open medium.
