ActX was founded in 2012 by Dr. Andrew Ury, and is based on his vision to make genetics a part of everyday medical practice.
Dr. Ury has been an industry leader in the field of healthcare technology since 1983, when he founded the first commercial Electronic Medical Record (EMR) company, Practice Partner. His product became one of the most widely used EMR’s in the US and received multiple industry awards. Practice Partner was acquired by McKesson, a Fortune 15 company, in 2007. Dr. Ury initially was a VP/General Manager at McKesson and then became Chief Medical Officer at McKesson Provider Technologies. He left McKesson in 2009 to found Aucolla, LLC, a company that has created several start-ups, including ActX.

Dr. Ury has assembled a team of talented geneticists, physicians, pharmacologists, genetic counselors, and software engineers for ActX, and is actively involved in the company's day-to-day operations.
