SonoSim, INC.

Entrepreneur and Emergency Physician Eric Savitsky was frustrated by the lack of effective and easily accessible ultrasound training available to healthcare providers. Working with a crack team of university-based computer scientists, he began developing specs for a simulation/software based training program to provide access to hands-on ultrasound cases and high quality coursework. A short time later, he launched SonoSim, INC. with co-founder and long time collaborator, Koren Bertolli.

SonoSim is an ultrasound training and diagnostic technology development company. Our extended team comprises computer science engineers, physicians and other medical professionals, 3-D modelers, graphic designers, media specialists, technicians, education experts, and peripheral device designers and fabricators. Our office culture is casual in style and team member interaction, however fast-paced and often intense. Work flow is project driven and characterized by high levels of activity and team mobilization leading up to new product and version releases. Successful team members possess a general can-do, collaborative attitude helpful in navigating start-up day-to-day activities.

The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution provides comprehensive didactic, knowledge assessment, and hands-on training modules using real patient ultrasound cases. Users can access content presented in an interactive multimedia format using still and dynamic ultrasound imagery, audio narration, computer graphic imagery, and animation. World-class ultrasound instructors, medical educators, leading computer scientists, and instructional designers collaborated to create the flagship training program, and continue to refine, enhance, add functionality and training modules.
