What we do

rhubarb is a venture studio + community of creative collaborators. rhubarb provides resources to take a startup from conception to exit.

Our story

Rebecca, Ryan, & Cauri all had one thing in common: a deep desire for solving problems with technology.

In 2014, they went on a mission to find the perfect building in Los Angeles where they could utilize 10% of the space for innovation and lease the remaining 90% to drive revenue. They discovered a floor in the US Bank Tower instead. For now.

They wanted to create a space for the new American dream. A home for people’s ideas and products to come to life. The studio was formed on the basis of three pillars: product, business, and culture. The idea was that entrepreneurs can create successful businesses through passion, problem solving and continuous education, while taking care of the world and their community.

Cauri started building computers at the age of 11 in Trinidad. By the time he finished high school, he was self-taught in electronics, Basic, Pascal, robotics, and assembly.

Ryan, a child star athlete and avid sustainability proponent, invented ergonomic motorcycle seats with his father in their garage and sold thousands of units on QVC.

Rebecca’s aptitude for communication motivated her to travel and learn French, Spanish and Japanese. Before moving to the US, Rebecca was on the executive team of a £15m non-profit startup that successfully re-imagined the way children’s services were delivered in the UK.

Collectively they share the same vision. Individually, they embody the perfect cross-functional team. Although they each bring their own experiences and expertise to the studio, it is their collective collaboration and aligned dream that has made rhubarb a reality.
