PDG Consulting is a software development and consulting firm that specializes in the media and entertainment industry. Our clients are the major studios and broadcasters. Our partners are software engineers and our engineers are the backbone of our company.

We are a start-up that is growing very fast. We are looking for software engineers with a strong background in object oriented programming and/or web development.

We view the projects we take on as partnerships. Each team we put in place is a blend of our experienced developers and employees from our clients IT staff. Often times the clients’ resources are locally based and can participate directly in all aspects of the project. However, increasingly client resources are off-shore and participate in only those functions necessary to allow them to support applications post-implementation.

AGILE PRINCIPLES

We believe strongly in Agile principles and work aggressively to bring this methodology to each project we are involved with. We have seen too many projects turn into deep holes of time, money and resources – delivering little but doing so at incredibly high costs, creating dissatisfied users and finishing months if not years after scheduled delivery dates. Delivering basic functionality into production environments immediately after project start-up, and following up with small incremental expansions of functionality every 2-4 weeks has been one of the keys to our success in project after project.

GROWTH & CULTURE

PDG Consulting was founded in 2010 by partners and fellow University of Pennsylvania classmates Adam Tarshis and Brennan Binford. After working as independent contractors in Los Angeles in media and entertainment they teamed up to create PDGC knowing they could deliver better products so their clients could increase revenue and sales.

With their extensive knowledge of the business they quickly gained contracts at Warner Brothers Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment and the team of two became a team of 10. In 2014, PDGC tripled in size and expanded to CBS, DirecTV and NBC.

80% of our workforce has a background in engineering and all of our employees no matter how technical the work have some experience in programming.

We want to make sure you understand the business problems you are trying to solve – we like to say “every line of code you write is a decision you are making" and the more you know about the business problem you’re trying to solve with that code the more likely you are to write good code.

We are a small team so our culture is important to us. We are very open. We encourage everyone to keep learning and we expect everyone to be a self-starter because we don’t have a lot of oversight. We set ambitious goals and work hard to achieve them.
