Jesse Lozano and Ryan Dunwoody co-founded Pi-top in a London apartment living room in October 2014. They built the desk which they built their 3D printer on, which in turn created the first Pi-top prototypes which would go on to be Pi-top's first feature device enabling teachers to deliver world beating STEAM based hardware and software content in the classroom. Fast forwards to 2016, and Pi-top now have a bright and motivated team of 25 amazing people, who help to create thousands of devices a month, shipping them to 70+ countries and distributed by some of the largest educational product providers in the world.
Our mission is to bring STEAM education into the 21st century by offering affordable and cutting edge purpose-built hardware and software. Our dream is to offer a radical, technological change to the educational landscape as we know it whilst still adhering to key educational standards. Pi-top recently secured further funding which will be used to expand the team, provide an improved work environment in our Bethnal Green office and expand our presence in international markets.
Pi-top's engineering is involved from start to finish, designing and building custom hardware as well as the software which runs on it. Because we work on the full "engineering stack", manage our own production line in China and have created our own custom logistics processes, the company is able to move and adapt quickly, enabling us to iterate over products in a matter of months not years. As such, we are looking for engineers keen to learn and adapt in a relaxed yet fast-paced environment that has impact on thousands of teachers, students and organisations.
