What we do

We help banks automate many of the manual, unstructured processes involved in bond issuance, allowing them to reduce cost and increase efficiency, while at the same time helping borrowers connect with more banks around the world to diversify their funding base.

Our platform is already being used by over 20 banks and 80 major financial institutions, SSAs & corporates across the globe and we are set to grow swiftly through 2019.

We created the company after having spent too long on the trading floor watch technology change and disrupt all aspects of our lives except our day-to-days. We started off in the Barclays Techstars accelerator for fintech startups 4 years ago and haven't looked back since.

Engineering at Origin

We're a team of 13 currently (of which 1 is based in Hong Kong), on the tech side it's our CTO (who is hand-on with product) + 2 backend + 3 frontend + 1 product. We also have a few offshore QA resources. We're python django and Angular1/7, hosted on AWS and we've started using docker for newer projects but very early on that topic.

We're at an interesting inflexion point with the business where we're looking to carve out side-products built using the components of the technology we've already built so that's very exciting, but also brings a bunch of devops challenges.

We have very extensive back-end and front-end tests and are passionate about writing the highest possible quality code/features. Sure we have sometimes had to rush things out without full test coverage, but we always follow-up with them quickly. It's really one of our strongest beliefs and anyone who joins needs to be on the same wavelength.

From a company culture perspective we've got a great setup, really friendly vibe. The team is very international, we enjoy going for drinks, doing escape rooms etc. We've start doing a bi-annual offsite trip too! We took the team to Menorca recently which was awesome!
