While working at Bain Capital Ventures, Sahil met with countless retail executives lamenting their struggles to keep up with consumer expectations and the changing demands on their physical stores. At the same time, Srinath was working at BloomReach to help retailers yield massive benefits by leveraging machine learning to improve how their products were discovered. Together, they set off to build a company that could dramatically improve the modern retail experience.
Onera is derivative of the Latin word Onerarius, which means to take on burden. And that is precisely what Onera was founded to do - to take on the burden of applying the latest advancements in data science and machine learning to empower retailers to more effectively delight their customers.
