    What do we do?

Many travelers today look forward to their destination, but dread the journey to get there. Our mission at LoungeBuddy is to instead elevate the airport experience by making it a memorable chapter of your journey. By partnering with a wide variety of premium airport facilities around the world, all travelers can have a great airport experience for around $35.

    Brief Description

There are few guarantees in air travel these days. Delays, cancellations, diversions, and misconnects are never within our control, but having a place to make the most of your time in the airport is. LoungeBuddy was created as your answer to finding a place to relax, be productive, freshen up, or just get away from it all. LoungeBuddy is the only single resource for travelers to discover, book, and access airport lounges worldwide. Currently in use by millions of travelers, the LoungeBuddy platform enables over 400 lounges in 70 countries to merchandise and generate revenue from their excess capacity by providing access to travelers seeking an elevated airport experience.

    The Tech Behind It

The Premium Airport Experiences space is highly fragmented and lacks innovation. As part of our core value, we’ve created the first (and only) real-time inventory management platform in the industry. Our millions of travelers contribute to our community with photos, ratings, and reviews, making us the most comprehensive resource for premium airport experiences in the world, and LoungeBoss, our iPad based check in system is used by hundreds of our partners. With our robust offerings (API, Responsive Web Integration, Central Booking Tool, and front desk check in system), travelers all over the world can discover, book, and access a premium airport experience in seconds. With partnerships powering information and bookings with Expedia, American Express, and many others, the impact our company has on the global travelling audience is tremendous. Each and every one of our team members directly contribute to the products we offer to travelers.

    What else should I know?

    • Founded in 2013 by Tyler Dikman (4x entrepreneur), Zac Altman (created Australia’s most popular taxi app), and Brent Griffith (marketing and growth hacking extraordinaire)
    • 30+ full-time employees. This means that you will have a tremendous impact on the products we create and the millions of travelers we help. In addition, we always seek to first promote from within. The team members of today are the leaders of tomorrow.
    • Our globally focused team is located in San Francisco (Our HQ), Sydney (Australia), and Manchester (UK)
    • 600% growth in bookings over the past 18 months
    • Featured in hundreds of media publications as being one of the best companies to make the most of your airport experience
    • Named “Travel Innovation of the Year” by Expedia, “Ancillary Revenue Innovation of the Year” by Airline Information Group, and “The Best Way to Make Holiday Travel Suck Less” by Jetsetter

    Where is the office?

We are located in the heart of Union Square and a quick walk from the Powell BART/Muni Station. Our Walk Score is a 100.

    Our Culture

Our team is made up of a diverse set of colorful personalities from across the world. Next to our insatiable passion for travel, there’s our unwavering ambition and the seemingly-unattainably high standard that we set for ourselves. We’re integrating innovative, state-of-the-art technology into airport spaces, and we’re having a rollicking fun time while doing it.

Of the ~30 we have in the company, nine are on the product side. As the heart and soul of LoungeBuddy’s engineering and product design, our engineering team has no shortage of interesting and impactful work to be done. We have an open engineering culture where all plans / issues / progress are available to the entire team to view and contribute. We are a company that celebrates customer and revenue growth, efficiency, and personal accomplishments.

We have an open and collaborative work environment with a fully stocked kitchen with snacks and drinks (including kombucha and beer on tap), enjoy weekly team lunches, and monthly team events (including escape rooms, symphony, cooking classes, volunteer activities, art classes, go-karting, and many more).

    Hiring Process

We’ve all heard of the new-age labyrinthine methods that companies are using these days to assess whether a potential job candidate is right for a certain position. Some of you may have had to jump through these hoops yourselves.

Here at LoungeBuddy, we like to keep things simple. Our interview process usually takes 2 - 4 weeks depending on each other's schedules. We’ll start out with two to three introductory video chat or phone conversations with members of the team, including one of the founders. This is a time for us to learn more about your background and what you can bring to the team. From the other side of things, it’s an excellent opportunity for you to bring up any questions you may have and find out how your goals, value, and culture align with ours.

If everything checks out, we’ll extend an exclusive invitation to visit our San Francisco office, giving you a better sense of the environment that you’ll be working in. From here, we’ll embark on a more technical discussion, followed by a take-home project and a code review. Once this is completed, we’ll move quickly with introducing you to the rest of the team and finally, presenting an offer.
