Our Story

Founded in Edmonton, Canada by two recent grads who thought it would be efficient to have complex financial and business definitions in an easily searchable website. That was in the early 90’s and from that kernel of an idea we have come quite a long way!

What We Did Right

Investopedia has always had reliable, unbiased content. We have top-tier relatability algorithms that accurately supply correlating terms, definitions and articles making us the one stop shop for any user in need of financial education.

Where We Are Going

Acquired in 2014 by IAC, Investopedia is currently in breakneck growth mode! Our 1.0 website needs to be brought into and beyond today’s 2.0 world. This is where you come in: we are re-designing the site, introducing cutting-edge products, and providing our customers with innovative tools!

Who We Are

Headquartered in NYC, Investopedia is the world’s largest Financial Education website. We provide easily digestible content so that people can understand financial news, analyze stock performance and navigate the markets. We have 61M + page views per month and 20M+ unique visitors per month! We are seeing 30%-40% yoy growth in unique visitors. Investopedia’s content machine is used to build quality and intelligently scaled content. We leverage a team of astrophysicists and rocket scientists to mine the world’s search visitation and determine exactly what topics Investopedia users’ care most about.
