GNA is a visionary Ideas Incubator. Founded by three directors, a group of friends, who have combined their technology and management skills, to turn ideas into projects, and projects into fully-fledged companies.

We design, develop, launch, manage, and nurture ideas into companies. At GNA, we believe in authenticity, flexibility, and friendship.

GNA is seeking an experienced Senior iOS Developer with a mature, modest attitude towards their work.

We have an existing iOS App called Sotro which now requires further development to release version 3.0. The next step will be its Android counterpart.

We are also in the early stages of a new project for iOS, Android and Web. The Developer role will help pave its growth from day one, so we’d want you to enjoy solving problems and have a passion for new ideas.

The position won’t just be churning out code, we want someone to join our team and help shape the future of GNA and its future projects. We will also require help seeking a junior developer to join the team and would like you to guide them and their workload.

The position will initially be a developer role, however depending on experience, skill set and dedication to GNA, we’d like to offer you advancements along with other benefits.

We are based just outside Stone, Staffordshire and ideally want a close working relationship with you based at our office. We appreciate this could be a barrier, however, we hope the appeal of working for GNA provides the sort of appeal that will encourage you to join us.

What we're looking for from you:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Help lead the development of our game-changing iOS applications
Collaborate closely with our management team to help shape the future of GNA and it’s projects
Solve challenging product intricacies and scaling issues
Use expert knowledge of the iOS platform to help guide design and engineering decisions
Prioritise a wide variety of work tasks with your teammates
Work with our product designer to create interfaces that delight our growing user base
Prototype product concepts frequently
Proactively contribute ideas for new features and identify areas for improvement
Own software quality at GNA

REQUIREMENTS

The ability to handle the entire iOS software development life cycle, end to end
Interest and experience in leading and guiding other members of a team
Strong interpersonal communication skills, and an interest in developing the abilities of others
Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms and programming languages
Thorough and recent experience developing for iOS 8/9
Expertise and fluency with Objective-C, Swift, Cocoa, and Xcode
Experience in optimising slow code, and an intuitive understanding of what is slow and fast on iOS
Willing to work with current database structures and guide future decisions on processes
A disciplined approach to development, documentation and code structure
At least five years engineering experience, preferably in a team
Significant involvement in the development of at least 2 shipped apps in the App Store
Comfort and delight in a small, fast-paced startup environment

Academic background in computer science (BSc or MSc)
Experience of Parse
Experience using cutting-edge iOS technologies 
Experience developing desktop applications for OS X
Familiarity with web development, distributed systems, HTML5, CSS & Java
