At Dig-It! Games™, we believe in the power of game-based learning. We are passionate about education, games and having a positive impact on our community and the world. We are dedicated to encouraging kids to expand their knowledge and discover a love of learning. In 2005, Suzi founded Dig-It! Games™ to create fun, interactive games-based learning experiences for middle school students. As an educator and trained archaeologist, she had used archaeology to bring history to life in the classroom while calling upon students to use a wide range of skills, including math, science, and language arts. To make these subjects relevant to 21st century kids, she set out to create entertaining, interactive digital games that could be played at school or at home. Her goal was to use games to engage children in an immersive way that goes beyond what they can experience from a textbook, film or lecture. After learning everything she could about game design and playing more games than she cares to admit, Dig-It! Games released Roman Town™ in January 2010 to critical acclaim from parents, educators and the education industry.
Our games are tools that allow kids to think creatively, expand their knowledge and discover a love of learning. They engage different learning styles, allow learners to proceed at their own pace and encourage players to explore topics that are meaningful to them. Authentic and accurate information that conforms to curriculum mandates and Standards of Learning is built into every game we produce. At Dig-It! Games, fun and learning go hand in hand. Our catalog of best-in-class game-based learning products currently includes: Mayan Mysteries™, Roman Town™ (updated edition), 3 Digits™, Can U Dig It!™, Loot Pursuit: Tulum™, Loot Pursuit: Pompeii™, Maya Quiz™ and Artifact Snatch™.
Dig-It! Games™ is not your typical game studio. We are a mission-based company; everything we do is driven by the goal of having a positive impact on education. We believe in the power of game-based learning to enhance education by promoting critical thinking, independent learning, and the joy of intellectual discovery. Our games incorporate age-appropriate content in math, science, social studies and language arts into fun, interactive and engaging learning experiences. Through our seamless blend of fun and learning, we seek to inspire kids to think differently about learning. Our goal at Dig-It! Games is not just to teach academic subjects through our games, but to get kids excited about learning. To that end we do numerous outreach projects. From opening our studio to the neighborhood, to being a field trip destination for school children, we seek to engage kids' imaginations and expose them to new opportunities. Hands-on outreach with kids is a required part of being a Dig-It! Games team member.
Our corporate culture centers on one theme: collaboration. We are an agile studio and encourage everyone to contribute to all aspects of game design and development. We value all input and strive to make products the whole team can take pride in, both as a group and individually.
But perhaps most important is our philosophy that fun comes first: kids won't play a game unless it's fun and if we're not having fun making those games, we're doing it wrong!
