Small. We’re a well funded early stage startup tackling the $50B+ market of residential real estate. We’re supported by the smooth machinery of the startup studio Expa.
Ambitious. The home buying transaction process is ripe for technology. It’s confusing, frustrating, opaque, and complicated. We’re injecting it with transparency, technology and long-awaited satisfaction, and establishing a business model which will capture a lot of that value. See how it works.
Grounded. We’re building a business, which means making sure we deliver value for our customers, real estate agents, fast. Generating revenue is not an afterthought -- we have an immediate monetization strategy and don’t depend on network effects for our product to work.
Experienced. We are a small team of real estate enthusiasts, technologists, designers and business people. We have collectively built very successful software products for decades.
Our product is rooted in transparency, fairness and honesty. These values are not a coincidence, they represent the type of company we are building and the type of people we're looking to join our team. Each of our job descriptions includes a "non-requirements" section, highlighting some of the things that are not relevant to new team members. We are looking for those who are committed to building a supportive, inclusive and collaborative environment. The average person spends 90,000 hours at work over a lifetime, we want those hours to be enjoyable and well-spent.
Haus was founded at Expa, a startup studio that works with founders to develop and launch new products. Garrett Camp, co-founder of Uber and StumbleUpon and founder and CEO of Expa, serves as the partner for Haus advising on product strategy and design.
Our process begins with a introductory call or coffee to get to know one another and discuss our product and the role. We follow it with an onsite interview with multiple members of our team relevant to the role. For technical roles, you can choose the way you’d like to do the practical exercise, including a homework exercise, pairing, or white-boarding. We often will have a couple onsite meetings so that you can get to know the team and the team you. One will include a social outing of time and style of your choice- breakfast, lunch or drinks.
