Hired Doubles Down on Diversity With Key Engineering and DE&I Hires

As we pause to reflect upon another year of incredible growth at Hired, we’re reenergized by two hires who have never better embodied the nature of our mission and product. We’re committed to helping people find a job they love through data-driven, intelligent job-matching — and by shaping the talent industry into a more inclusive, empowering resource for all technology workers. In the spirit of that vision, we are thrilled to welcome Nidhi Gupta as our head of engineering and Janet Ikpa as the head of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts.

Introducing Nidhi Gupta as Senior Vice President of Engineering

Hired is dedicated to helping technical talent finding meaningful and rewarding careers — and we’re honored to have Nidhi Gupta join us as the face of that mission and our own engineering team. Nidhi joins us with 20+ years of experience leading and scaling engineering teams at high-growth startups, including Tophatter, Elance, Ning, and MobiTV — and is eager to apply her experience at Hired as we enter a new year of heavy investment into our technical team and infrastructure.

What is Nidhi most excited to accomplish in 2017? “For me, engineering isn’t a team that should work in a silo: I’m passionate about integrating the nuts and bolts of strong technical talent with the wider strategic goals of Hired, and building a culture of openness and individual business impact along the way.”

Nidhi earned her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, holds three patents, and likes to travel, hike, make pottery and work on various arts projects with her little daughter. Follow Nidhi on LinkedIn.

Introducing Janet Ikpa as Senior Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We’re a little biased, but we think this is an exciting time to join the Hired People Ops team. Accelerating diversity, equity, and inclusion excellence is a core value proposition of our product — and pillar of our company mission. That’s why we’re thrilled to have Janet Ikpa join us as our Senior Manager for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, developing and executing Hired’s DE&I strategy, initiatives and programs, and promote DE&I as core values throughout all aspects of Hired’s product and business practices. With experience in diversity recruiting strategy at both Twitter and Google, Janet came into tech after working in higher education and is intentional about applying education theory to industry practice.
