WHAT WE DO
Boticca.com is a global marketplace for fashion accessories from emerging designers. We started the company 4 years ago and have grown tremendously. We have over 10,000 pieces and 300 designers on the site selling to the US, UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia. We were recently named 3rd after ASOS and Shopstyle in the Times top 50 best websites for fashion and beauty.
BACKING AND BUSINESS MODEL
The company is well backed, having secured $8m from leading VC firm MMC Ventures and French entrepreneur fund ISAI as well as wealthy private investors.
We charge between 40-45% commission on all orders. We have an AOV of £110 and a CPA of around £20. This allows us to profitably acquire customers. More detail on our business model in this Slideshare deck here.
OUR FOCUS
- Increase our Average Order Value and broaden out or range to include mens and homeware. Optimise sourcing funnel. Our Buying and Merchandising team is headed up by industry veteran Luisa De Paula - ex head of fashion from Liberty, Selfridges and MyWardrobe. She joined late last year.
- Lower CPA and scale out marketing. Paul Henri from Alexandalexa.com joins next week to ramp this up.
- Optimise conversion on desktop, tablet and mobile and hone dev efficiency. Product Director Dave Killeen joined in July last year to build out the Product, Dev and UX team - ex Badoo, BBC iPlayer and MailOnline.
- Scale the business in each of these three functional areas with solid metrics and raise a Series B early 2016. All of the above report in to founder Kiyan Foroughi to make this happen.
